Meet the One to One Staff

Diane Wall- Owner/Director

My Name is Diane Wall. Having lived in Santa Rosa for 47 years, and built my own family of three children and nine grandchildren here, my life has been fulfilled. Many doors have opened to enrich my life. I have enjoyed the opportunities to be an active participant in numerous forms of education with One to One, special education and supportive services for students, which has been a special pathway for my professional life. The students I have worked with over the years have brought me much joy by sharing their learning styles and experiences. They have opened my eyes and heart to fully understand what learning is about. Inviting children to learn how to use differentiated techniques and programs has helped them to experience success in numerous forms of their education. This, in turn, has aided their abilities to feel confident in desiring to learn. Observing that transformation has been one of my greatest blessings while working with these students individually over the past years.
The staff at One to One has always provided the care and dedication that is necessary to help change a child’s life, and for that I am thankful. I have always believed that the highest reward for our toil is not what we get from it, but what we become by it - that is the reward I have always felt from my students.
Allison Smith - Tutor (All Subjects)

My name is Allison Smith, and I am happy to have been teaching for 13 years. I have taught in public school and privately, here at One To One Learning Center. My great joy has been discovering what teaching can be when it truly is centered on the child. The growth that is possible with students who are struggling is amazing, both in their academics and in their self confidence. It makes me so happy to see a child succeed when they have been struggling with setbacks. Because of the freedom to focus on what each child needs, and the wonderful environment at One To One, I truly feel like I have been "spoiled" as a teacher. I am blessed to be surrounded with people I love, both at work and at home. I have an amazing husband, two awesome sons, and a sweet dog. If I'm not working, I can be found reading, dreaming up home improvement projects, or enjoying some chocolate!
Jamie Kline - Tutor (All Subjects)

My name is Jamie Kline and I have been teaching at One to One Learning Center for several years. I am passionate about teaching and find my job very rewarding. Seeing students achieve success is the best part of my job. I teach all subjects, but primarily reading and math. I have considerable training in visual and auditory processing for reading and comprehension.

I am a both a mom and step mom to three wonderful boys. If I’m not working, you will most likely find me on the baseball field or basketball court. My husband, Jon, and I are very lucky parents who enjoy watching our children’s activities together, walking our rescue pup, Buddy, and traveling.
Brittany Mills - Math Tutor

My name is Brittany Mills and I have been working at One to One since 2014. Education has always been a passion of mine and I am thrilled to be part of such a wonderful team of tutors. I greatly enjoy the freedom that comes with working individually with a student, allowing for tutoring tailored to their learning style. It is incredibly rewarding to help a student work through and master problems.

While I am dedicated to my job, I am also a student myself pursuing a degree in child development with an ultimate goal of being a classroom teacher. Outside of work and school, I enjoy reading, and creative writing. I love the arts, in particular theatre and dance. I’m also a huge fan of local sports.
Cory Nguyen - Math Tutor

My name is Cory Nguyen. I am a full time college student pursuing a degree in mathematics. I was born, raised, and educated in Santa Rosa. I have a passion for education and enjoy most fields of study, however I have a particularly strong love for mathematics, psychology, and philosophy. I enjoy problem solving and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. Working at One to One has given me the incredible opportunity to guide young students through their coursework and help them establish methods of problem solving that extend beyond the classroom. Every student experiences a different learning style and works at their own pace. The diverse group of students I tutor has taught me so much more than I ever imagined and I look forward to progressing my tutoring skills in every way possible.
Diane Walsh - Tutor (All Subjects)

Hi, my name is Diane Walsh and I have taught at One to One for the past six years. I feel blessed being a part of such a wonderful educational environment. Being able to teach one-on-one forms a close relationship that accelerates the learning process. To witness the “light bulb moment” is my greatest joy! I applaud all parents who recognizes the value of knowledge. It’s a gift that builds self-esteem and will help our young people make better decisions as they grow up. One to One Learning Center has been a big part of the educational community for over 25 years and I am extremely proud to be a part of it. On a more personal note, I have an amazing family and my favorite activity is watching my two grandsons play baseball.
